Deanne creates one off vessels and larger installations using multiple smaller pieces made up of different types of clay. Working with clay gives Deanne a grounded, emotive experience, that she believes helps to connect to Country. The word for clay in Wadawurring is ‘beek’. Deanne states that, “beek, is alive, with living organisms, just like I am”. The vessels have a sense of living and breathing, taking on human forms and Deanne finds that highly evocative.
